School Profile
Millwarra Primary School is a vibrant two-campus school set in the beautiful Upper Yarra Valley, just 70 kilometres from Melbourne. Our campuses in Millgrove and Warburton East are about 9 kilometres apart, giving students the benefit of shared resources, programs, and opportunities across both sites.
We provide a rich and balanced curriculum across all key learning areas, with specialist programs in Visual Arts, Physical Education, Drumming, Auslan, Science, and Wellbeing. Students enjoy a variety of hands-on experiences including woodworking, cooking, bike education, gardening, and a wide selection of electives.
We offer tailored support in Literacy and Numeracy so every child is encouraged and challenged at their own level. Our classrooms are equipped with modern technology – including laptops, large display screens, and WebEx conferencing – to connect learning across both campuses.
Beyond the classroom, Millwarra students participate in camps, excursions, sporting events, creative arts, and wellbeing programs, along with co-curricular activities like cooking, gardening, and bike education. After-school clubs—including gymnastics, craft/sewing, games, and mindfulness—offer even more chances for students to explore their interests, build friendships, and gain confidence. We also provide Kinder Gym at Millgrove and Playgroup at Warburton East, warmly welcoming young children and families into our school community.
We celebrate student achievements—academic, sporting, and personal—at our fortnightly assemblies, fostering a strong sense of pride and community. Additionally, on the last day of each term, we hold a whole-school assembly where special Term Awards are presented to recognise outstanding accomplishments.
Our dedicated school mini bus runs each day, transporting students between campuses and supporting excursions, camps, and cross-campus learning experiences – helping to make the most of what Millwarra has to offer.
Our Facilities
Both campuses feature spacious grounds, four classrooms, a library, and an art room. The Warburton East campus is also a designated Community Fire Refuge. Millgrove offers additional spaces, including a multi-purpose room, canteen, and the Millwarra Community Building – home to a gym/basketball court, theatre, and kitchen. These facilities support school activities and are used by local community groups for sports, arts, and wellbeing programs.
At Millwarra Primary School, we are proud of our caring culture, high-quality programs, and strong community partnerships. We invite you to contact us to learn more, arrange a tour, and see our wonderful school in action.
